Studies have linked the use of certain antidepressants while pregnant with an increase in the risk of serious birth defects, including heart defects, pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN), head and skull defects, abdominal defects, limb abnormalities and more. If you were prescribed a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) while pregnant and your baby is born with a congenital abnormality, you might qualify for compensation. Popular SSRIs include Zoloft®, Paxil®, and Prozac®.
