Alfa / Recombinant
Alfa / Recombinant is a drug intended to treat cystic fibrosis. Hoffmann-La Roche issued a drug notification in March 2000 warning of the defect in packaging. A quality assurance inspection found a small puncture was present in about one of every 1,700 Alfa / Recombinant. Cystic fibrosis is an incurable, inherited disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system.
