Avandia®, Insulin and Type-2 Diabetes

Produced by GlaxoSmithKline, Avandia® is an oral medication that can improve control of blood sugar levels in patients with type-2 diabetes. Although Avandia® may be used in conjunction with other medications, in most cases, doctors recommend not taking Avandia® and insulin together, as use of insulin with Avandia® can increase patients' risk of developing serious Avandia® side effects.

Complications associated with Avandia® and insulin use include:
