Chantix® Attorney
(800) 889-3898
Chantix® attorneys are personal injury lawyers who focus on building and winning cases for those injured after taking Chantix®, a smoking cessation pill.
Since August 2008, Pfizer's Chantix® has been used to help people quit smoking by preventing the brain from being able to experience pleasure from nicotine. Unfortunately, however, Chantix® has also been reported to cause a variety of serious side effects, which can include:
- Depression
- Psychosis
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), an inflammation of the mucous membranes that results in painful blisters (usually around the mouth, eyes and genitals)
- Suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors
- Toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome (TENS), a more severe form of SJS in which swelling causes the outer layer of skin to separate from underlying layers, slowly die and be shed from the body.
Chantix® patients who develop any of the above conditions should:
- Seek immediate medical attention to prevent further complications and, in the worst cases, death.
- Stop taking Chantix® and find an alternative medication or method for smoking cessation.
- Meet with a Chantix® attorney, once their health is stable, to learn more about their legal rights and possible entitlement to compensation.
Reported Chantix® Injuries
To date, the following Chantix® side effects have been reported:
- over 800 instances of depression and/or psychosis
- nearly 500 cases of suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors
- over 55 suicides
Given severity of possible Chantix® complications, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) banned pilots and air traffic controllers from taking Chantix® in May 2008. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also issued a national Chantix® warning that:
- Warned the public about the possibility of life-threatening side effects when taking Chantix®
- Mandated that Pfizer include stricter warning labels on Chantix®'s packaging.
As of yet, the FDA has not issued a Chantix® recall that would take this medication off the market.
Meeting with a Chantix® Attorney
During an initial consultation with a Chantix® attorney, injured Chantix® patients, as well as families of those who have died after taking Chantix®, can:
- Evaluate their case and find out if they are entitled to a settlement.
- Learn about the process of building and winning a Chantix® lawsuit.
- Hear about settlements already won in cases similar to their own.
- Determine whether they want to file an individual lawsuit or join an already-progressing class action case.
To encourage prospective plaintiffs to stand up for their legal rights, experienced Chantix® attorneys provide these consultations for free and will work on contingency – so no payment for legal services will be necessary until (or unless) a settlement is won.
Have you or a loved one been harmed by Chantix®? If so, contact us today to speak to an experienced lawyer who will thoroughly evaluate your case and fight to ensure you receive the compensation you need and deserve.
