Marketed by GlaxoSmithKline, Digitek (digoxin) is a medication used to make the heart beat stronger and more regularly. Among the conditions that the Digitek drug is prescribed to treat include:

• antacids
• antibiotics
• alprazolam (Xanax)
• cancer drugs
• diuretics
• epinephrine (EpiPen)
• methyldopa (Aldomet)
• rifampin (Rifadin, Rifater, Rifamate)
Also, to minimize your chances of developing serious Digitek side effects, be sure to talk to your doctor about your complete medical history before starting a course of the Digitek drug. Patients with a history of the following conditions may need dose adjustments or an alternative heart medication:
• atrioventricular (AV) block, an impairment in the blood flow between the atria and ventricles of the heart
• electrolyte imbalance (such as low levels of magnesium or calcium in the blood)
• heart attack
• kidney disease
• thyroid disorder
