Drotrecogin Alpha

Drotrecogin alpha is used to treat severe symptoms of sepsis. One of the most common side effects of drotrecogin alpha are bleeding, placing a particularly high risk of adverse events occurring in drotrecogin alpha patients with meningitis and low platelet count with a high risk of intracranial bleeding. Blood clots causing stroke can occur with drotrecogin alpha as well. Drotrecogin alpha patients at high risk for potentially deadly drotrecogin alpha adverse effects include individuals with internal bleeding, recent stroke, recent head or spinal surgery, or severe head trauma
