Guillain-Barre is a rare, serious disorder in which an individual's own immune system attacks her nervous system.

Guillain-Barre is usually triggered by an infection or illness (such as a flu virus), and it may also be triggered by a vaccination. The recent study's examination of VAERS identified 53 cases of Guillain-Barre among Gardasil®-vaccinated individuals.
