Gardasil® Lawsuits

Gardasil® lawsuits are initiated to obtain a legal remedy for individuals who have been harmed by this cervical cancer vaccine. Gardasil® has been on the market in the U.S. since 2006, and according to its manufacturer, Merck & Co., over 16 million doses of this HPV vaccine have been administered to girls and women aged 9 to 26. Reasons for Gardasil® Lawsuits

In April 2009, a study presented to the American Academy of Neurology suggested that being vaccinated with Gardasil® may present an increased risk of developing Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), a serious nervous system disorder. Gardasil® Side Effects

• pain, swelling, itching, bruising, and redness at the injection site
• headache
• fever
• nausea
• dizziness
• vomiting
• fainting

Gardasil® Adverse Reactions

In June 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required Merck to expand the list of possible adverse reactions to Gardasil® to include:

• muscle and joint pain
• unexplained fatigue
• weakness
• malaise

Blood Clots after Gardasil® Vaccination

Thromboembolic disorders (blood clots) have also been reported following Gardasil® vaccination. Blood clots can have life-threatening effects, particularly when a clot breaks free from its site of formation and travels to the lungs or to the brain.

Seizures, Deaths Linked to Gardasil®

In 2007, the public interest group Judicial Watch used a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request to get Gardasil® adverse event reports from the FDA, and found reports of Gardasil®-related reactions including:

• paralysis
• Bell’s palsy
• seizures
• death
