Gardasil® Lawsuits
(800) 889-9248
Gardasil® lawsuits are initiated to obtain a legal remedy for individuals who have been harmed by this cervical cancer vaccine. Gardasil® has been on the market in the U.S. since 2006, and according to its manufacturer, Merck & Co., over 16 million doses of this HPV vaccine have been administered to girls and women aged 9 to 26. Unfortunately, deaths and serious reactions to Gardasil® have also been reported.
Reasons for Gardasil® Lawsuits
In April 2009, a study presented to the American Academy of Neurology suggested that being vaccinated with Gardasil® may present an increased risk of developing Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), a serious nervous system disorder. Although the study's data are preliminary, individuals who have contracted GBS after being vaccinated with Gardasil® may want to consider a Gardasil® lawsuit to recover the costs of their treatment.
Other Gardasil®-related lawsuits are based on the side effects of Gardasil®, which is administered three times over a six-month period.

Gardasil® Adverse Reactions
In June 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required Merck to expand the list of possible adverse reactions to Gardasil® to include:
- muscle and joint pain

Blood Clots after Gardasil® Vaccination
Thromboembolic disorders (blood clots) have also been reported following Gardasil® vaccination. Blood clots can have life-threatening effects, particularly when a clot breaks free from its site of formation and travels to the lungs or to the brain.
Seizures, Deaths Linked to Gardasil®
In 2007, the public interest group Judicial Watch used a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request to get Gardasil® adverse event reports from the FDA, and found reports of Gardasil®-related reactions including:
- paralysis
- Bell’s palsy
- seizures
