Levaquin® is a powerful antibiotic medication that is prescribed for severe bacterial infections, such as those caused by pnemonia, chronic bronchitis, or exposure to anthrax. Levaquin® antibiotics are also used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, sinuses, skin, and urinary tract.

Tendon Injuries Linked to Levaquin®
Several hundred instances of tendon rupture have been linked to the use of Levaquin® antibiotics. The risk for tendon injuries is especially high for active patients (runners, weight lifters, athletes, etc.) and for patients over the age of 60.
Levaquin® medication information contained on the label specifically warns of this risk- tendon rupture and other tendon injuries can occur while taking Levaquin® or after the course of medication is finished.
