A couple living in Talladega, Florida, have become the first in Alabama to file a lawsuit against the maker of Digitek.
The heart drug was recently nationally recalled and blamed for several health problems amongst users throughout the country.
Woman Experiences Side Effects
According to reports, Bobbie Dyal was prescribed Digitek and immediately started experiencing the side effects.
In March, she was flown to Trinity Hospital where she had to undergo surgery to receive a pacemaker.
Suit Filed Following Surgery
Shortly after the surgery, Bobbie and her husband, Robert, filed a suit against Actavis Totowa LLC, the makers of Digitek.
The suit claims Bobbie suffered permanent heart damage after taking the pills and experienced digitalis toxicity, which is a lethal reaction to a digoxin overdose.
Ryan Lutz and Rick DiGiorgio say their clients, the Dyal’s, are the first in the state of Alabama to file a suit in regards to the side effects of Digitek.
