A 15-year old South Carolina boy accused of killing his grandparents as they slept three years ago was put on Zoloft three weeks prior to the murders. His Zoloft dose was doubled just two days before, and lawyers have alleged the antidepressant led the boy to kill.
Pfizer Inc. says it will follow a court order and hand over some internal documents to lawyers defending the boy that believe will help them prove Zoloft's role in the boy's actions. A Pfizer spokesman, Bryant Haskins, says there is no evidence to suggest Zoloft could lead to violent behavior.
The judge is considering a defense motion to send the case back to juvenile court, and no trial date has been set.
