Prozac® Has Been Known To Cause Birth Defects

Atrial septal and ventricular septal defects are holes in the membranes that separate the chambers of the baby's heart. The heart is very inefficient at pumping blood around the body when this defect occurs. This defect is less common than PPHN in babies born to mothers who have taken Prozac®.
