Raptiva® Injections

Generically known as efalizumab, Raptiva® injections are used to treat the autoimmune skin condition known as psoriasis. Raptiva® Psoriasis is an incurable, non-contagious skin affliction in which red, scaly patches (plaques) form on the elbows, knees scalp and/or genitals.

Administered once a week via syringe, Raptiva® injections have been found to cause a variety of serious, life threatening side effects, including:

• Meningitis, swelling of the brain and/or spinal cord
• Lymphoma, malignancies in the lymph nodes (the glands that filter bacteria and cancerous cells from the body)
• Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), inflammation of the brain's white matter
