Yaz Birth Control Deaths

Generically known as drospirenone, Yaz is an oral method of contraception that prevents pregnancy by altering the uterine and cervical linings. Yaz, which is produced by Bayer Healthcare, is not indicated for treatment of PMS.

• diabetes
• excessive alcohol consumption and/or use of illicit drugs (such as cocaine)
• heart disease and/or arrhythmia
• high cholesterol
• hormone therapy
• hypertension (high blood pressure)
• obesity
• smoking
• stroke
