Produced by Berlex Laboratories, Inc., Yasmin is an oral contraceptive medication that prevents pregnancy by changing a woman's cervical and uterine lining. When taken at the same time daily, Yasmin is 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy.

- moderate acne (in menstruating women older than 14)
- premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), a severe form of PMS marked by depression, concentration problems, difficulty sleeping and other debilitating symptoms
Yasmin may also be sold under the brand name Yaz, a form of drospirenone manufactured and distributed by Bayer.
