Medical Uses
Merck is the maker of Zocor®, a brand name of the generic version simvastatin, which is a medication used to control the amount of fat content that is in the blood, as well as keep cholesterol in a person's body sustained at a healthy amount.
Zocor® has been on the market for nearly two decades and has been prescribed by doctors to their patients that might be having difficulty controlling their cholesterol or watching their weight.
Side Effects of Zocor®

In 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a statement to the public that Zocor® should not be mixed with amiodarone, a heart medication, due to possible harmful drug interactions.

Some common symptoms include difficulty breathing, uncontrolled itching, swelling and dizziness. Severe allergic reactions can result in serious complications and even death.
